How to Ride

To purchase your mobile ticket…

1. Download Token Transit from the App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android)

2. Search for and select “RideSmart”

3. Select your fare type and purchase ticket

4. When you’re ready to ride, go to My Passes in the Token Transit app on your phone and tap the ticket to activate. IMPORTANT: Do not activate your ticket until you see your bus.

5. As you board the bus, show the operator your phone, displaying your activated ticket.

If you are using your SmartBenefits, you do not need to purchase a ticket through Token Transit. Instead, please refer to the below section, “To use your SmartBenefits.”

To use your SmartBenefits

If you are using your SmartBenefits, you do not need to purchase a ticket through Token Transit. Instead, please follow these steps:

1. Login with your SmarTrip card here OR create a new account.

2. Choose your EMPLOYER for transit benefit and select DC MOTORCOACH (DC008) as the provider.

3. When you board the bus, please inform the driver that you are using SmartBenefits and provide your name for verification.
