Ridesharing
RideSmart is a free service operated by the Northern Shenandoah Valley Regional Commission (NSVRC) for residents, workers, commuters, and tourists in the five counties in the northwest corner of Virginia — Clarke, Frederick, Page, Shenandoah, Warren, and all jurisdictions within — as well as the City of Winchester.
In addition to ride-matching, RideSmart also helps participants identify a full array of commuting alternatives, such as public and rail transit, and hybrid workplaces.
RideSmart partners with Commuter Connections (operated by Metropolitan Washington COG) to provide a free ride-matching service that helps connect commuters who share similar schedules or travel patterns.

Carpooling
Carpooling can greatly reduce the cost of gas that you have to pay out of your own pocket. The more vehicle occupants the less you pay.
Vanpooling
Vanpooling, like carpooling, can greatly reduce the amount you have to pay out of your own pocket. The more riders the greater the savings.
Public Transit
Public Transit such as buses and rail can be a great way of saving money and time on your daily commute. Some transit lines even let you pay monthly in advance so you won’t have to worry about commuting costs.
Biking
Review regional bike routes and get more information from local organizations.
